Volunteer with us

Together we can make a difference

Volunteers play such an integral role in our charity. They give their time, skills, and dedication, which enables our lifesaving crew to be there for the most critically ill and injured patients across the North West.

Our North West Air Ambulance Charity volunteers are our champions within the community. They spend time actively raising our profile, increasing awareness of our service, and help raise vital funds to keep our crew in the skies and on the ground.

There are lots of ways to get involved and we can help you find a role that suits you best.

Aside from supporting a lifesaving service, and making a real difference, you’ll benefit from:

  • The support of a brilliant team, and a talented and passionate fundraiser
  • In-house training relevant to your role
  • The opportunity to develop or learn new skills
  • Meet new people in person or join our Facebook Volunteer Group
  • The opportunity to gain a recognised qualification – should you so wish
  • Come along to events and activities exclusive to NWAA Volunteers

There is no minimum time requirement, the role is flexible and can work around you. Expenses are available in line with NWAA policy.

Volunteer organising stock in a retail store

Join our Retail Team

Join our busy retail team in our stores across the North West.

Our retail stores sell clothes, homeware, furniture, books, DVDs, and other pre-loved items. Our team prepares products for resale, sells merchandise, and accepts cash donations from the public.

Whether you fancy designing eye-catching shop and window displays or providing a great customer experience, this could be the role for you.

Henry pretending to drive a fire truck

Volunteering with NWAA helps us save lives like Henry’s

Nine days before his second birthday, while walking with his mum and auntie, Henry was hit by a car after falling into the road. Rob, Henry’s Dad, rushed to the scene: “My heart just sank, and I just thought, I’ve lost him.”
