In 2014 the Great North Run took its place in history as it became the first International Association of Athletics Federations event in the world to welcome its millionth finisher.
The event is broadcast on BBC and attracts a host of world-class athletes. Previous runners include some of the most famous names in distance running; Mo Farah, Paula Radcliffe and Haile Gebrselassie.

To apply for one of our charity places please complete the attached application form or register with us here if you have been successful in securing your own ballot place.

For one of our North West Air Ambulance Charity places all we ask is that you raise a minimum of £350 in sponsorship, if your application is successful we will cover the £52 cost of your entry, however you are welcome to make a donation to cover the cost of your place if you wish.

If your application is successful, or once we receive your own place registration form, we will arrange to send out your sponsor pack which will include your sponsor forms, hints and tips on smashing your target and one of our North West Air Ambulance t-shirts to wear with pride on the day! You will also receive support from the fundraising team both on the run up to the event with lots of fundraising ideas and on the day – we can even arrange for a massage after your run!

By taking on a challenge you will be supporting the life changing work that our Pilots, Doctors and Paramedics provide every day of the year across the region to the 8 million people of the North West.

Your time and fundraising efforts will help us to continue this vital work and be at the right place at the right time – We wouldn’t be here without you!
