The world’s leading half marathon, the Great North Run, was first staged in 1981 where just over 12,000 people took part on the 13.1 mile course from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields; with entries reaching 57,000 people in 2014.
In 2014 the Great North Run took its place in history as it became the first International Association of Athletics Federations event in the world to welcome its millionth finisher.
The event is broadcast on BBC and attracts a host of world-class athletes. Previous runners include some of the most famous names in distance running; Mo Farah, Paula Radcliffe and Haile Gebrselassie.

To apply for one of our charity places please complete the attached application form or register with us here if you have been successful in securing your own ballot place.

For one of our North West Air Ambulance Charity places all we ask is that you raise a minimum of £350 in sponsorship, if your application is successful we will cover the £52 cost of your entry, however you are welcome to make a donation to cover the cost of your place if you wish.

If your application is successful, or once we receive your own place registration form, we will arrange to send out your sponsor pack which will include your sponsor forms, hints and tips on smashing your target and one of our North West Air Ambulance t-shirts to wear with pride on the day! You will also receive support from the fundraising team both on the run up to the event with lots of fundraising ideas and on the day – we can even arrange for a massage after your run!

By taking on a challenge you will be supporting the life changing work that our Pilots, Doctors and Paramedics provide every day of the year across the region to the 8 million people of the North West.

Your time and fundraising efforts will help us to continue this vital work and be at the right place at the right time – We wouldn’t be here without you!

Oulton Park Circuit,
Little Budworth, Tarporley, Cheshire, CW6 9BW United Kingdom

Neil Howard Stage Rally and Fireworks, Oulton Park, Saturday 07 November 2015

With a laid-back end-of-term atmosphere, the Neil Howard Rally and Fireworks has established itself as the perfect Oulton Park season-closer. The event in association with Graham Coffey & Co. Solicitors is Bolton-Le-Moors Car Club’s premier event.

Competitors must tackle a series of bespoke rally stages, incorporating the venue’s rally course and sections of the track run in both directions, with additional challenges including a water splash. The full details of the 2015 route will be revealed nearer the time.

This event attracts one of the most eclectic entry lists of the season, with everything from the original Austin Mini Cooper S to modern World Rally Championship specials such as the Subaru Impreza, and a legion of iconic 1970s Ford Escorts.

Once the rally is over and darkness sets in, spectators are invited to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display. There will also be plenty of off-track family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.

Team NWAA will be there on the day so stop by and visit their stall to find out more about the charity.  Bolton Le Moors Car club will be offering autosolo rides in return for donations to the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
