There are plenty of events for you to join to help support your local Air Ambulance

There are plenty of events taking place for you to join to help support the North West Air Ambulance Charity. The charity holds events from walks to skydives and these are supported by hundreds of fundraising volunteers who take their time to host a variety of events in aid of your local Air Ambulance.

The Keswick (40 miles) and Coniston (21 miles) to Barrow Walks are walks taking in some stunning scenery. Teams of between 4-12 people test themselves on a challenging route to raise money for charities and good causes. Walkers on the K2B can expect to be walking for between 8-12 hours. All walkers receive a certificate and commemorative medal.

The Fred Whitton Challenge consists of a 112 mile sportive around the Lake District, starting at Grasmere and taking in climbs of Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott & Wrynose passes.The very top riders complete the route in just under six hours but eleven hours and over are not uncommon for the average sportive rider. This is a very tough route and going on rider feedback the hardest one day ride in the UK, the event includes all the Lakeland passes, one with a 30% gradient and this comes at 98 miles.

2019 ADVANCE ENTRY

Costs: NWAA Charity place. £250 Entry refunded by event Organiser on reaching £250 sponsorship. General entry places and info available on website from Early January 2019.
