Mission Walk: final preparations are underway…September 22, 2016 From HQ
With just a few days to go until our inaugural Mission Walk kicks off on Sunday 25th September, it’s all-systems-go here at the North West Air Ambulance Charity HQ. We’ve been very busy making final preparations to ensure that the event is a huge success – and raises lots of money for our lifesaving service!
All you registered walkers should now have your packs, including number to pin on the front of your yellow t-shirt and a blank version for the back, to customise with a personal message explaining why you’ve chosen to take on this Mission to help save lives.
An event of this kind takes some serious organisation and logistical management, and we have been working hard behind the scenes since the beginning of January! After entering teams to numerous charity events throughout the years, and seeing huge success, we knew we wanted to create our own event for 2016 – and came up with the Mission Walk as a way to demonstrate the incredible Missions that our crew makes every day across the North West.
We wouldn’t have been able been able to achieve this without our team of brilliant volunteers, including a lovely team from Lloyd’s who have been helping us prepare by filling goody bags and even donating drinks for the water station.
We’d also like to thank our other partners: Character Mailing who donated our wonderful banners for the day; Wildthang, who donated the medals, and Kingfisher, who donated the walking numbers!
Are you participating on Sunday? Why not check in and walk alongside with our Clinical Service Manager, Mark Evans, who will be taking part in his full uniform – including a kit bag – and will be available if you have any questions about the charity or the work that we do.
