As the government takes steps to ease lockdown, plans are underway for the charity to adjust to our ‘new normal’, whilst continuing to prioritise the protection and safety of all our staff, volunteers, supporters, customers, contractors and visitors. Detailed plans and risk assessments are now in place to reduce the spread of Covid-19, whilst the charity continues to provide lifesaving care across the North West.

Head office

Where possible, the charity is encouraging and permitting working from home. Social distancing and increased levels of hygiene will be enforced within all workspaces, which have been professionally cleaned and ULV fogged. Although our Head Office remains unmanned, our supporter engagement team is still on hand to answer any charity enquiries and you can contact them Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, by calling 0800 587 4570, or by emailing

Our retail outlets

Our eBay store is now open for business and we are gradually re-opening our retail outlets, when it is safe for both staff and customers to do so. The safety of our staff, volunteers and customers, and prevention of the spread of Covid-19, is our priority. All our premises have been professionally cleaned and ULV fogged prior to opening. Each outlet will adhere to guidance around social distancing and the number of customers allowed to enter premises may be limited. Clear barriers at till points, and the closure of changing rooms, are some of the actions that will help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Shop opening times may also be reduced as our retail staff are following additional cleaning and hygiene procedures to keep everyone safe.

Donated goods

We ask that customers, where possible, ring ahead to let us know when they will be dropping off donations to our stores. This will help us plan. All donations are quarantined in a special holding area, and handled and sorted by staff using clear guidelines.

Collections and deliveries

Our drivers are following all Government advice. As such, your driver will call you ahead of arriving at your property to double-check if you’re isolating or not. If you have a collection booked, you’ll need to bring your item to your door ready for us to collect otherwise we won’t be able to remove it
