The Green Jersey Cycle Club have nominated us as their charity for their Gravel Rush cycling event.
Gravel Rush is an adventure ride that takes in a mix of paved roads, gravel roads and trails around the Ribble Valley and Bowland fells. Although the route is designed with gravel bikes in mind, cyclocross and mountain bikes are also suitable for their event. The moderate route takes in forestry fire roads on Longridge Fell and Gisburn Forest, with a few technically easier (blue graded) single track sections. If you’re looking for a bigger challenge, the hard route also takes you deeper into the Bowland fells via the Salter Fell gravel road. Full details of the routes, including GPX files and STRAVA routes, will be sent to you by the organisers upon entry. If you’d like to earn yourself a place on their ‘Gravel Rush Hall of Fame’ there’s a 100 miler that also takes in some more challenging terrain, featuring sections of the Pennine Bridleway before returning via the wet and muddy trails around Pendle!
To join the Gravel Rush visit The Green Jersey website, there is no entry fee but The Green Jersey Club ask you to make a minimum donation of £10 to our charity.
Once entered, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0800 587 4570 to register your chosen event with us and we will provide you with a challenge event pack which includes sponsor forms, hints and tips to help you smash your fundraising targets, temporary tattoos and a free t-shirt to wear with pride at your event.
The money raised from the event will make a difference to the lives of so many individuals and families in the future, providing rapid pre-hospital care at the right place at the right time.
